If you make a booking less than 8 weeks before the start of the rental period, then the full rental price must be paid immediately upon request.

Damage

In case of damage or breakage, you must notify the Owner immediately. You are liable for any damage to the rented property, when it can be attributed to you or a member of your group. Damage is in principle understood to be the costs of repair, and if repair is not possible, the costs of replacement.

The Owner is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Owner is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest.

The Owner is not liable, nor will provide a refund, for any stoppage of electrical services caused by extreme weather or other circumstances beyond his control. Similarly, there will be no refunds for inclement weather, changes in water levels, or any nuisance afforded by the natural elements of the location such as flying insects or the animal population.

We encourage guests to purchase travel insurance.

House Rules

Please:

  • Treat the house and its contents and furnishings respectfully, and place things back where you found them.
  • Noise levels should not cause a nuisance to the neighbours.
  • No smoking or vaping allowed inside the house.
  • Don’t dry items in the house, but use the washing line outside in front of the wood storage near the pergola or use the washing line in the back of the garden. If needed, dry items on a drying rack in the glass conservatory.
  • Communicate any issues you have as soon as you become aware of them (damage to the inventory or the house, blockages, leaks, etc.) to either our property caretaker or to us, so we can lend a helping hand. While every attempt will be made to ensure that all the advertised equipment and appliances are in working order at the commencement of a rental period, no reduction of rent; rebate; or refund will be issued for a mechanical failure of air conditioning, dishwasher, washing, TV or other appliances.
  • Damage determined after vacating the house will be charged.
  • Keep doors and windows locked when you leave the property.
  • Don’t start a fire in the garden. The authorities have forbidden any fires between May and October, due to the dryness in the summer season and any risk involved. Please feel free to use our barbeque instead
  • Respect pool rules: A pool can be a serious danger to children, as drowning can happen quickly. The physical presence of a responsible adult is essential when the pool is open.
  • And most importantly: HAVE FUN! We hope you have a great time.

Parking: Vehicles are to be parked in front of the house, left and right of the small blue gate. Please do not park on the path on the right of the house that leads to the forest – this is a public way and should be clear of obstruction. No parking allowed in the garden, as it will damage the underground septic tank that is located near the big blue gate.

Housekeeping: There is no housekeeping service. Bed linens and towels (including tea towels and pool towels) are included in the rental rate. If you book 2 weeks or more, every Saturday you will receive clean linen and towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the house.

Swimming Pool: Children are not permitted to use the pool without adult supervision. The pool is not fenced. When using the pool, remember there are risks associated with this facility. Use the pool at your own risk.

Fireplace and Woodstove: The fireplace and cast-iron woodstove are wood burning. Guest must insure that any fires are out prior to leaving the house or going to bed.

Water and Septic System: The house is on a septic system. The mineral content in the water is high. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. Do not flush anything other than toilet paper. No feminine hygiene products should be flushed at any time. Please only use cleaning products that are indicated as suitable for septic tanks (French name: fosse septique).

Water Softener: Be aware that the house is equipped with a water softener. Therefore, please only use a little amount of laundry soap in the washing machine. This will help the environment and prevent excessive soap production. There is also no need to add dishwasher salt to the dishwasher.
